The Tinicum Conservancy was formed in 1992 by a group of conservation-minded residents who were concerned that larger, regional land trusts weren’t paying enough attention to land protection in our township. Within eight years, we had conserved a thousand acres. By 2004, another thousand acres were added, and yet another thousand by 2007. Today, 5,133 acres in and around Tinicum are protected… and counting!
