Trail Building at the new Bridgeton Preserve

  • Bridgeton Nature Preserve 1822-1810 River Rd Upper Black Eddy, PA United States (map)

All are invited to come join Tinicum Conservancy and the Pennsylvania Highlands Trail Stewards in building new trails at the recently protected Bridgeton Preserve in Bridgeton Township. Prospective volunteers should be prepared for physical labor and to get dirty. Instruction and tools will be provided. Any hiking is rated easy; however, work tasks will range from MODERATE to STRENUOUS. Proper PPE is required including hard hats, work gloves, and safety glasses. Bring your own if you have them; otherwise they will be provided. Long pants, long sleeved shirts, and proper footwear for working are recommended. Some parts of the terrain are thick with vegetation and may be wet and insects may be present, so waterproof boots and insect repellent are also recommended. Bring plenty of water. We will work straight through until 1 p.m., so you may bring a lunch to eat immediately after the outing, or bring a snack to tide you over until later. Please register with TC’s Executive Director, Eric Anderson, and the trail-building leader, Greg Bernet, ahead of time. Questions? Email trailsamc.tc@gmail.com
